Whilst this is of course a Grandmothers Fan Variation block I have called it Mary Jo’s Fan after a special friend. This is a 1930’s block and it sings!

This quilt photo below is of a vintage quilt from 1930 that I own. The colours are gorgeous. We have made templates from this quilt in the exact size. What I find unique about this block is that the blades are double blades in the block and not individual and the edge is pieced in. The fan is not appliqued on as is the traditional way.
We have also produced a template set in the 4.5 inch size for this block.
