Amelie

I really enjoyed  making this quilt. It is quite scrappy although it does have some order to it. I had a number of border fabrics in my collection that I wanted to use. I have combined my two loves of piecing and Needleturn Applique in a quilt reminiscent of the English Medallion. This quilt was originally made and named ‘Amalie’.  My son and his wife, without knowledge of this, called their brand new daughter ‘Amelie’ so hence it had a slight name change.

It could however be made in any style of fabric with equally stunning results, just use great contrast.

The pattern contains instructions in Needleturn Applique, Making Bias Strips, Fussy Cutting Border Strips, Joining Border Fabrics and Mitred Corners.

A FULL SIZE applique layout sheet is included along with Applique Templates in MYLAR cut out and again ready to use.

Quilt Measures 67 Inches (170cm) square.
